Jay Seeley
Shopworn bohemian hipster makes pop music for you.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've been writing songs and performing for a few years now, but it feels more like 700 days.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I love to play live -- the alternative is unthinkable. My best show was at 13th Street Coffee House in Omaha Nebraska. I told the audience I would projectile vomit if I didn't hear vigorous applause after each song. They clapped like crazy.
Your musical influences
The Magnetic Fields, Brian Eno, Underworld, Suzanne Vega, Lou Reed, My Bloody Valentine, Seefeel, Shoukichi Kina, Kate Bush, The Orb, Pizzicato Five, Stereolab, Liz Phair, Jane Siberry, Steve Earle, Ryuichi Sakamoto, They Might Be Giants. I don't sound like any of those people.
What equipment do you use?
I could tell you, but I'd have to kill you.
Anything else?
I'm just making music to get chicks.
