Jayne Sachs

Jayne Sachs (pronounced Jane Sax) is an artist based out of Dayton, Ohio. As a singer, songwriter and guitarist, Sachs was listed as "Best New Music" in The Album Network three years in a row, and one of six "Best Unsigned Bands in the USA" by Virtually Alternative out of L.A.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Jayne formed her first band in the fall of '93, and released her first album "Faye's Flower" in '96, and a follow up in '97 entitled "It's a Scream" recorded by indie legend Kramer at Noise New York. Her latest album "Velveteen Girl" was released in November 2000. Along the way, she and her bandmates won various competitions, participated in showcases, and did all they could to spread the music. After various line-up shifts, her band has stabilized with guitarist Steve Van Etten, bassist Scott Shiverdecker, and drummer Kelly Morelock.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Jayne plays shows with her band, as well as solo shows, primarily in the Dayton/Cincinnati area, with the odd road trip to New York, Chicago, Nashville, and elsewhere.
