Jay Curtman
Jay Curtman has been singing Southern Gospel Music for as long as he can remember. As a young child he learned that he had an ear for picking out old hymns and standards on the piano and soon afterward he developed an interest in the guitar. Jay is not only a singer / songwriter but also a former youth director.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Born in St. Louis, MO in 1970. The son of a Baptist preacher. Jay is a former police chief.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I use tracks that I create at Curtman Music Studio. Some songs I play live.
Your musical influences
His major influences are Jake Hess, Gary McSpadden, The Cathedrals, The Happy Goodmans and many others.
What equipment do you use?
A keyboard and a guitar. A Roland digital recorder! The rest is a secret! :)
