Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Before there was a Funkmaster Flex, Kid Capri, Cash Money,Qbert,Jazzy Jeff, or anybody else you can think of who has blessed the turntables in the last 15 years; Before there was a DMX,Nas,Jay-Z,Cash Money,2Pac,Biggie,Heavy D, or anybody you can think of who has blessed the mic in the last 20 years, there was The Original Grand Master Jay DJMC! One of the first of his kind and a veteran in the culture of Hip Hop. From Sylvia Robinson and the groups on the Sugar Hill Label to Russell Simmons creating Def Jam to Steve Rifkin and Loud Records, GMJ has been a part of them all! Now as Hip Hop music has evolved into a multi-billion dollar industry the Pioneers are having their time to shine and finally get the recognition they deserve! After having his name ripped off by Run DMC's DJ ,Jam Master Jay in 1986, Grand Master Jay was robbed of the opportunity to change the face of Hip Hop. Something many felt he was on the verge of doing. Now his story reads like a who's who of Hip Hop! He has toured worldwide with the likes of DJ Kool, Funkmaster Flex, R&B songstress Yvette Michele, WuTang, Def Squad, Onyx,and many others. If you don't know him you'd better get with the program!!
