Jay Alaniz
I am a Studio Owner/Producer/Songwriter in South Texas. The songs on here are the some of the songs I have written for Taxi, some stuff I wrote just to write, and improvs. The others are some of my favorite covers, that I sometimes do during the back yard BBQ's we have here. WARNING: The improv's are long, and completely self-indulgent. :)
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The band is is composed of practically all my close friends. I'm lucky they all ROCK!

Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We will begin playing live as soon as the album is finished. Hopefully around the San Antonio/Houston/Dallas areas. A special moment? hmmm. Laughing when I had to pay $.25 to enter the restroom at a Carl's Jr. in L.A.
Your musical influences
Huge influences are Dream Theater, Luis Miguel, Opeth, Alice in Chains, Incubus, Dave Mathews, John Mayer, The Funk Brothers, Earth Wind & Fire, Django Reinhardt, Steve Vai and Bela Fleck
What equipment do you use?
All recording is done with ProTools LE and mixed using Nuendo with the waves platinum plug-ins. Guitars are Ibanez electrics (S540LTD, JPMP3, S500N) and acoustics are Ovation nylon string, Takamine 12 string, and a Alvarez 6 string. Eli Molina does all the engineering.
