J Atkins

With an elastic talent that allows him to float gracefully between simplistic acoustic melodies, ballads and pop tunes, J. Atkins is a bona fide musician whose contemporary worship tunes speak to the heart of the soul.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
J. Atkins writes, composes, arranges, produces and performs his own music, and has spent a great deal of his career doing the same for others incuding Darren Rahn, Eric Darius, Tim Bowman, and more. He is know the jazz world over for his astounding ivory-tickling, but he is truly a musician's musician, with a body of work as extensive as his worldwide travels, on music business, of course.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes. All over the world. There's large jazz festivals, concerts, churches, private parties, weddings. Everything. When I play with other artists, and Ive written a segueway or part of a song, its always nice to hear how it turns out with the band playing live, and to see how the people respond to it. Right now, Ive got the My Sacrifice album, with stuff on it that I've done for praise and worship. The album is being released July 2007, so I'm really focused on promoting it and making it known to everyone who supports the vision, (and those who should too).
