evolved to a new level of cohesion with the addition of drummer, Randy Hart in the spring of 2005. Hart was initially brought in to record some of the more complex drum tracks on the CD, but Moore found his enthusiasm, feel and technical prowess a perfect fit for his music. Hart joined Moore and his longtime bassist, Manami Yamaguchi. Originally from Japan, Yamaguchi also studied classical piano. In addition, Atsuko Matsuyama has provided the finishing touch for the pervasive vocal harmonies in the band's music. Matsuyama is the product of a prestigious music school, where she trained as a classical singer. The four have just completed a new CD project, which was released in July of 2005.
The new Jason Moore Band is geared to realize a long-term dream; high-energy fun while recording and performing music. The band wishes to reach a wide-ranging audience with songs of various subjects cultivated through Moores life experiences. On stage, Hart, Yamaguchi and Matsuyama simply have a good time with the music, ranging from the pain of street life to the joy of stripping. Moore has fun entertaining the crowd with tongue-in-cheek lyrics and occasional guitar-shredding madness.
Moore put an end to years of playing air guitar on his tennis racket when he got his first guitar at age 12. While his family moved between Texas, California and Oregon, Moore stayed in a stable relationship with his guitar, writing nuggets of material which would come to fruition later, and emulating the guitar magic of such legends as Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen and eventually, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.
After returning to Oregon in 1993, he delved into many different projects including disco, funk, rock, jazz, acoustic duo bands to Elton John tribute and Vegas-style show bands in Portland, The Dalles, Seattle and Spokane, WA. The demand and desire to please each crowd with different genres of music and guitar playing not only influenced Moores style but opened doors to more free-spirited song writing. Many unfinished songs were completed during this time of being an all-around guitarist. His first CD is the culmination of Moores life in an all-you-can-play music buffet of his last
two decades.
Jason Moore Band officially released I, Man Am at the Aladdin Theater in Portland on July 30, 2005 and is currently working on new material. Stay tuned as the adventure continues to unfold.
