My name is Jason. I go by "Jase" when I'm on stage. I spent time in a few different states, (Oklahoma, Virginia, Illinois, Florida) as well as overseas in Germany for around 2 years (my dad was in the army.) We settled in Bassett, VA when I was 9 years old, and I finished school there.
I'm now living in Covington, VA, and I'm managing a restaurant while also doing the recording thing, finding a little talent here and there that inspires me to improve, and preparing for a huge leap into the "live on stage" scene!
I'm into heavy acoustic, standard acoustic, blues, jazz, rock, country, metal, and indie. ALL of this shows up in my music that I've written. It's a very diverse collection of music, but the general tone is totally unique to my style of playing. I guarantee you have not heard anything like it. I created Hollow's Epitaph in the summer of 2007, when I realized I had everything I needed to record full songs right from home. Since then I've been writing like crazy. I've completed a total of five full length albums and I have a total of 65 songs to this date. I cannot post all of them on here, for risk of my work being stolen. Most of my work is not truly copyrighted. If the song is on HERE, it has been copyrighted and is safe to post.
I have worked with quite a few excellent musicians, all of which were very enthusiastic about my music, and more than willing to give me input. I welcome any and all constructive criticism.Have you performed in front of an audience?I do play live. I play anywhere that will have me. YES I like it very much! I currently record and perform as a solo artist, but I would very much enjoy being part of a band, as long as their sound is similar to mine. I really don't want to change my sound at all. It is who I am.
However...I have yet to play a set on stage in front of tons of people. It's always been very informal with friends and the like. I look forward to having a unique stage presence! I NEED NO BACKUP. I am a one man show.
Your musical influences
I am easily influenced by anything that you can hear acoustic guitar in. I like Andy McKee, Preston Reed, Michael Muller, Karl Werne, Kevin So, 3 Doors Down, The Spill Canvas, and many many others!What equipment do you use?
I use a Fender Starcaster (red and white) an old cheap acoustic guitar, 2 compression microphones (Bose), an old Peavey amp, a PC with FruityLoops XXL Producer Edition, Cool Edit Pro, and Protools on occasion.Anything else?
