My name is Jason. I go by Jase. I'm living in Covington, VA, and I'm managing a restaurant while also doing the recording thing, finding a little talent here and there that inspires me to improve, and preparing for a huge leap into the "live on stage" scene! I'm into heavy acoustic, standard acoustic, blues, jazz, rock, country, metal, and indie. ALL of this shows up in my music that I've written. It's a very diverse collection of music, but the general tone is totally unique to my style of playing. I guarantee you have not heard anything like it. Band/artist history
This all started back in 2007 when I started writing and recording with the Pseudonym "Hollow's Epitaph." I had a lot of material in the works back then, but nothing really to my satisfaction. In 2011 I had a son and I put my guitar down...for almost 14 years. I picked it back up again this year and I'm starting to write again. This time I'm writing full songs and not instrumentals.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I do play live. I play anywhere that will have me, but I have a hard time with it. I do have stage fright. I currently record and perform as a solo artist, but I would very much enjoy being part of a band as long as their sound is similar to mine. I really don't want to change my sound at all. It is who I am.
Your musical influences
I am easily influenced by anything that you can hear acoustic guitar in. I like Andy McKee, Preston Reed, Michael Muller, Karl Werne, Kevin So, 3 Doors Down, The Spill Canvas...there are too many to list. I'm also influenced and motivated by my family and friends.
What equipment do you use?
I use an old Ovation acoustic electric guitar, a very cheap, ratty electric guitar, FruityLoops XXL Producer Edition, Cool Edit Pro, and BandLab.
Anything else?
Most of my material is born of inspiration. I do have some cover songs, but my original work is inspired by life events and people. I would love to know what you think. Leave a comment! Share with your friends!
