Hey everyone! We are a group of individuals around the East Coast that have individually recorded cover versions of Jars of Clay songs. They are being made into a CD right now, and the Jars of Clay band itslef will get a copy, as will a lot of Jars fans. If you like Jars of Clay already, you're going to get a kick out of hearing these different versions. Some of them are true covers, and some are comletely rearranged with added instruments, solos, and song arrangements. If you've never heard of Jars of Clay, you can still enjoy this music, because the original songs are very good. You may want to look into the real Jars of Clay music, as it's also very good. Josh
Band/artist history
I was thinking one day that it would be cool if all of the Jars fans got came together and decided to make a CD with everyone covering their favorite Jars of Clay song. I decided to see if anyone was up for this project. So I posted a message on some Jars of Clay message boards and I received a strong response. I was very excited. On this CD will be some covers from any Jars of Clay song that you have heard of. There might even be a few original songs from the bands and singers of their own work. I am in the process of receiving songs right now, and I can tell you that this is going to be a great CD! I hope to give this CD to Jars at concert in March. This CD will be free to anyone that wants one. I hope you all will give us some feedback and I hope you enjoy the CD. -Zach
Have you performed in front of an audience?
No.
Your musical influences
Jars of Clay. lol. I'm personally influenced by Dave Matthews Band, Steven Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith. I also learn a lot from Santana, Gary Hoey and Neil Zaza. Josh Switchfoot, Jars of Clay, The Calling, and Lifehouse. -Zach
What equipment do you use?
I used Magix Home Studio Generation 6 for recording my 2 cover songs. (Worlds Apart and Frail) I use Roland V-Drums and a Korg Trinity keyboard. I mainly used my Martin AcousticElectric guitar, although I also used Aimee Camp's baby Taylor for the guitar solo at the very end of Frail. I used basic Shure mics for recording the vocals.
Anything else?
I really hope you enjoy listening to these. For the first few weeks as we're waiting to recieve the other songs, we're just going to upload clips of my two. If you would like information on how to attain the CD when it's done, you can contact me at evenjosh@hotmail.com. I don't know if we're going to charge anything for them or not, but if we do, they will definitely be very cheap. If you want to hear more music by me, look up my name Josh Brahm in Soundclick. I have my own site with a lot of instrumental music.
