Jan and Joe Nethery
We've been playing and singing since we were kids, and the music is always evolving. Lately we've been having a lot of fun learning some bluegrass tunes and expanding our musical talents by learning to play other instruments--mandolin, bass guitar, autoharp, and even the Puerto Rican Cuatro (a 10-stringed instrument). The music is a deep and meaningful part of our lives, but most of all we just have a lot of FUN playing!!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Because of family committments, we don't travel or tour to promote our music. We mostly play in informal settings such as coffee houses, bluegrass jams, church & community events, and family get-togethers. The music is fun and it's a blessed part of our lives, but it's not our job or occupation. Any moment making music is a special one. Seeing others enjoying and being blessed by our songs is even more special!
Your musical influences
