James Doyle
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I love playing gigs, I've played a couple in London and a good few in Medway. I've had a few set backs when it comes to it though, a hand injury put me out for a while, which drove me mad. I had a great time playing in the caves at Fort Amherst, the atmospherics were incredible. Probably the best gigging moment I've ever had was at the Urban bar in Whitechapel, I silenced a noisy crowd with a very gentle ballad.
Your musical influences
I love most music, but when it comes to writing my own stuff I tend to lean more towards progressive rock, with that said I have to write a memorable song, I'm a sucker for a hook. I think that's the most important thing, you can be the best guitarist in the world, if no-one remembers the songs you play, it's wasted.
What equipment do you use?
Cheap guitars, a mac with garageband, plenty of plugins a decent akg mic and a Laney VC15.
Anything else?
Just a big thank you to my good friends for their love and support to make sure I survived some tough times.
