About JAHGYDEYAH Ò (Pronounced JAH-GUIDE-YAH) Some time ago, the co-founders of JAHGYDEYAH RECORDS, Steven “Purpose” Chung and Gorken Wallen met through a mutual friend. At the time both were travelling along separate musical paths, but eventually chose to seize the opportunity to join their talents to achieve a common goal. That goal evolved into the creation of a movement to promote the incredible music production of Chung and the vocal stylings of members and affiliates of what is now known as JAHGYEDYAH. At that point, Chung, a self-taught musician and producer had been honing is musical skills in the garage of his home in Coral Springs, Fl. He had been working with and developing vocalists, who were mostly friends and family with a similar desire to make music. Later, both Wallen and Chung introduced each other to musicians they knew, and Chung would go on to form the JAHGYDEYAH band. Before long, Wallen’s garage became the venue that would facilitate the sharing of musical ideas and the development of talent. Soon, there would remain only standing room for spectator friends who would show up every night to listen. These impromptu parties and good vibes laid the foundation for the development of seasoned artists, and the creation of JAHGYEYAH RECORDS (founded 2003) as the entity to introduce the world to the resulting music. JAHGYDEYAH’S roster presently boasts Jah-Yut a.k.a. The Furns Burna, whose fireary lyrics and emphatic delivery sets him apart in both the dancehall and Hip-Hop arenas. JahYut’s debut album, entitled “Mountains To Climb”, is coming soon. The album is a musical ode to the universal struggle of the lesser-advantaged peoples of the world. It boasts an energy filled mix of traditional roots reggae and fiery dancehall, with a twist of hip-hop. Stay tuned to find out when the album will be available for purchase online. Sharate, singer/songwriter, provides listeners with a smooth, calming voice and insightful lyrics on love, life, and Rastafari. Look out for Sharate’s debut album entitled “Fruits Of Life,” coming soon. J-Will, an accomplished singer in his own right, lends his melodious voice to Purpose produced tracks with perfect timing and grace, and is destined to provide pleasure to the ears of the ladies. J-Will is currently working on his yet untitled debut album. G.Cole, a unique singer/songwriter offers the world powerful lyrics and dynamic melodies. His vocal style seamlessly blends Reggae, R&B, and Gospel, giving it a global appeal. Despite the diversity of the artists and the genres of music that come out of the camp, there is a common theme, "positivity." As explained by Wallen, “JAHGYDEYAH strives to use music to influence minds to liberate humanity”. JAHGYDEYAH’S mission is to uplift the minds, bless the spirits, and move the bodies of the masses by producing, promoting, and distributing quality Roots, Dancehall, Hip-Hop.
