EDITOR: The music industry is steadily growing. New up and coming artists are continuing to make a name for themselves and where they're from by any means necessary. From New York to down south in Atlanta, to even as far as the West Coast, to now even Maryland. Jesse (Jae) Smith was born on the 24th of February in the city of Annapolis, Maryland. Growing up his whole life there, his musical talent began as a past time in the late fourth grade when he and his cousin Young Boobie use to kick flows down in his aunt's basement. Heading in to middle school Jae met another guy who shared the same passion as him presently known today as his partner/best friend Q Dot. Dot realized that Jae had a seriously flow and asked him to join a group he had already put together called ThoroCalab 203. Because Jae was already known for his basketball skills on the court as "Money", from then on he was given the name Jae Money. He still held his solo artist status while being a part of ThoroCalab. In no time at all this rap familia began to get there names heard. Struggling to pay for the equipment they needed to produce a high quality sounding CD, they had to rely on getting themselves heard on cassettes. As the group moved into high school, things started to fall apart (cant be specific) and then everyone began to drift off to there own ways. Mainly they thought they werent getting anywhere because they were still producing on tapes, while other local groups were far along digitally. Hope was dead Jae was determined to keep the movement going. After he finally got the equipment needed for putting their music on CD, everything fell back in place. Everyone one has always said this young artist was destined for success but only time can tell. People described him as a huslta, meaning he did everything in his way to get money, music being his chosen path. From then up to now, Jae Money has released in the streets 2 solo albums (Stacks Up and Change For A Dollar) and 1 mixtape (Murder Money Mixtape Vol. 1); also adding to those, two collaborations he has made with Q Dot (Quick Money Pt. 1 and Pt. 2) Be looking out to hear much more in the near future from this Annapolis artist. And please dont hesitate to post questions and comments. THANKS!
Words From Jae: "If there was anything in this world you could have what would it be? I look in the mirror every morning and I see my past and I see success. Success is the future, the path im taking. I've realized that people gonna say shit and talk smack. Niggaz sweat you because they cant see their own success so they want yours. What good is your tricked out car if you never left the city? What good is your money if you make no investments? What good is dreaming if you're scared to take risks? I got alot of shit to say man and my music gonna speak loud and clear...SO PAY ATTENTION!!!"Admin
