Jacob and Julia
Jacob and Julia consists of Jacob and Julia. This is purely coincidence as the first incarnation of Jacob and Julia was comprised of five guys named Lou. Jacob plays guitar and a little kazoo. Julia plays a lot of kazoo. Their sound is a raw, inappropriately angry take on the whole Sonny & Cher/Steve & Eydie vibe.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
We started out like most acoustic husband-and-wife death metal ensembles: playing Slavic Community Centers near the Mexican border. This invariably led to countless bingo parlors and day kennel situations, which in turn opened doors in the footwear industry. Several years on the halfway house circuit and another several playing on small boats without the owners' permission landed us a low-grade Taiwanese cereal promotion gig. The rest, as they say, is history.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We don't play live anymore. Not so much. We did play live, and lo, it resulted in far too many lawsuits for a band on our budget. It would be fun, but for the deafening indifference and the sirens.
