Welcome to Jacki's dance club! Enjoy these tracks!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
In 1987 I picked up a keyboard for the first time and haven't been the same since. I took six months worth of piano lessons and then basically taught myself after that. I have subbed for a bar band, played in churches and even played in my old high school once. I dream of doing live piano gigs, just background music for parties, etc. Also I'm pretty good at accompaniment, and another dream I have is to accompany an up and coming singer. I began writing music in 2002 - first on a Roland XP-50, then on a Roland Fantom Xa, and I am now doing my writing on Reason Version 4. For mixing down/fading, I use Gold Wave. I know I still have a lot to learn but the process is nothing short of exciting. I hope I can make music for many more years to come.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I make music here at home on my computer, plus I play at a church in Tigard, Oregon. I hope to branch out and do more live shows some day.
Your musical influences
I love all kinds of music but in the 70's I was quite enchanted with Georgio Moroder and artists like him. The track for I Feel Love by Donna Summer is still the bomb. I also was influenced by Jan Hammer and Kraftwerk.
What equipment do you use?
Roland Fantom Xa, Compaq computer, Reason Version 4, Gold Wave Audio, various speakers, etc., and of course my fingers and brain!!!!!!!! :)
Anything else?
Making music is AWESOME!!!
