Jack Is Back

Soaring vocals, scorching guitars, wall-bending bass and thundering drums - we are Jack Is Back!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Jack Is Back is made up of the following members . . . Ryan Lancaster - Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin & Accordion Lukasz Jaroszyñski - Guitar Sebastian Petersen - Bass & Violin Will Jones - Drums & Percussion Jack Is Back came into existence in October 2003 in Göttingen, Germany when Will contacted Ryan after seeing a note Ryan had left in the University about guitar lessons. Soon after we linked up with Lukasz and Sebastian and were playing and writing by mid-November. Our first gig was at a Christmas party in December of that year and over the course of the next seven months we did six more gigs, two of them being headlines at Göttingen's most prestigious venues (Kreuzberg Cafe and the Nörgelbuff). In July 2004 we completed our demo album One For The Road, which contained crowd pleasers Hoochie Hand Grenade, Whiskey & Gin and Rose and some classic covers, including storming versions of Folsem Prison Blues by Johnny Cash and Creedence Clearwater Revival's Proud Mary. Sadly we have had to disband the band. Will left the band to return home in July 2004 and Ryan left Germany to start a new job in Scotland in February 2005.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We played live as often as we could. We did headlining gigs at two of Göttingen's top venues, we played numerous parties and also did several performances in our rehearsal room. We loved to play live and our greatest moment in the band was playing at the packed Cafe Kreuzberg in Göttingen to over eighty paying punters!
