A band that plays Metalcore/Heavy Metal. Mixing these two genres together to produce positive music. And also to relate what the listeners are going through.
Around the time of 2001 Shawn and Irwan decided that they should form a band together. Back then they were some sort of a losers towards the eyes of their peers. The mere mention of forming a band is a total joke to their friends. Not long Shawn and Irwan realized what they have to do. Hence it sparked determination and a bit of angst within them. The band went through numerous line-ups. Usually these changes comes from the position of the drummer and bassist. After months of searching, they finally settled with Wei Heong to be a permanent drummer. Wei Heong was such an unexpected person to be in a band because no one knew he could play drums. After the band had a permanent drummer, the band took Metal Carnage as their band name. But the band still had no bassist.
During the early days of 2002, the band decided that they should focus on composing more originals. After weeks of making their new material the band decided that they want to change their band name because the current name for the band did not go well with the style of music they playing. So the band decided to have Judicidal Paradox as their new band name. The band continued on creating and rearranging their originals but still there was no bassist. During that time Irwan was filling the vocals for the band. After weeks of frustration on finding a bassist Irwan decided to leave the vocal position and play the bass instead. Now the band had a permanent bassist. With that the band had no vocals. In the mids of 2002, once again the band decided to change their band name. After weeks which seem like months and with all the soul searching and idea popping the band finally took Defiance Corps. for their band name. But there were still doubts about the name not going well with the music they play.
In early January of 2003 the band managed to complete 2 originals with lyrics intact. But there was still no vocals to sing those songs. The band faced many difficulties on finding the right person for the job. Because most of them were in the band for the fame but never for the music. After an intense search for a vocal which took nearly 2 and half years, the band finally had David as their permanent vocals around late August of 2003. After everything had settle for the band line-up, once again the band decided to change their band name. After much soul searching the band came to terms that Jackalhyde will be their permanent band name because it suits well with the style of music they play. Within the year of 2003 Jackalhyde managed to perform in 3 gigs and 1 competition. Jackalhyde is currently trying to make a name in the local metal scene a find a record label.
Yes we do. Most of the gigs are based in Singapore. Our special moment was when we first played live infront of a whole school. It was something we could never forget.
Anything from Metalcore to Black Metal. Jazz to Blues. Anything that can make us feel the groove. But we hate techno and pop.
Metal shall always be around! m/ Keep it real!
