Jack13
Jack writes and records all the instruments and vocals for his music. His premise is
to keep the music as simple as possible, while conveying the message and emotional
content as strong and purposeful. This is formula which has succeeded in making
Jack's music very popular to a wide range of listeners.
Jack is very hard to label. The album Drama is considered "power pop, alternative
rock, modern rock, etc". There are a lot of different elements and influences in
Jack's music, but to really boil it down, one could say that Jack13 is blues-based
alternative rock. Jack plays a lot of 60's and 70's cover songs as well as his own
music in his live shows. The covers range from Jimi Hendrix to the Kinks.
In between playing live shows, Jack is writing new material for his next album,
expected to be released sometime next year. This album will have more of a blues
vibe that Drama, but will still be considered alternative. It promises to be distinctly
Jack13, and will show a bit more of Jack's versatility. We as jack13.com have
heard a couple of songs Jack is working on...and they freakin' rock!!

Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Jack started playing guitar and writing songs as a teenager, and has been in
many incarnations of local rock bands. Somewhere along the way, in part
due to necessity, Jack began playing and recording all the different
instruments for his songs. Jack 13 is literally a one man band.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?

Your musical influences
Jack is a very unorthodox guitar player with influences such as Jimi Hendrix,
Tom Morello (formerly of Rage Against the Machine, currently with
Audioslave), Edge of U2, and Zak Wylde (of Ozzy Osbourne fame, but
also an artist in his own right with Black Label Society). Jack is also a fan
of The White Stripes.
