From the past to the present. A little history on J4
Just in time to save the world from the mediocrity of boy bands and boy toys, the next iteration of rock and roll has arrived. Greg Lake - vocals, and Tommy Iapicco - drums, started J4 back in Canada. The 2 met while in high school, and just started playing together with other friends around their home town, which is located about 60 miles south of Toronto, Ontario. A little place called "St. Catharines"
Before Greg Lake, and Tommy Iapicco came out to California, they went to Chicago to record, "Soul Searchin". They relocated to Nashville, TN, where they recorded "Swamped". They also did an MTV music video for the single "Feel the Same" off the "Swamped" album. For a period of time, the bands brown "Ford Econoline" van served as their only means of transportation, and their home. Fun times. While they were based in Nashville, J4 made their presence known on the south East music scene. Some thing was beginning to spark, and J4 was definitely part of it. Grunge was dead, and bands of similar style, (mostly from the South East- Creed, Matchbox 20, Seven Mary 3) were starting to take over. The South East definitely had a sound, and J4 was part of it. A Few major players in the music business had flown out to see the band, and asked them if they would be interested in coming out to Los Angeles. The 2 members then relocated to LA.
Once in Los Angeles, the new "J4" was formed. Andy Curtin-Guitar, Masa Iga-Guitar, and Jimmy Mitchell-Bass, along with Greg Lake0 vocals, and Tommy Iapicco-drums, now complete the new lineup. J4's big moment came when Pine Records, and Sowa productions joined forces and formed LOL Records. LOL Records ("The Artists label") began recording, and releasing J4's music. Since then they have released a five-song EP "Deeper Shade of Blue", and a full-length CD "A Dozen Dead Flowers." (Current release). "A Dozen Dead Flowers" is one of those rare albums where each song gives the listener a new, and exciting listening experience with each track played. The third track titled "Midnite" is currently a radio single with airplay from many (top 40) radio stations across North America. The single is still being played by major stations, and the CD can be downloaded (iTunes Music rebellion. etc..), or bought, (Amazon, Tower Records, Best Buy) almost anywhere you buy music.
As far as a live show goes, The band has played everywhere. And J4 can play. Before a single note is struck, you'll find yourself sucked in by the charisma of the band alone. And when the music starts, rest assured you will enjoy the show. J4 have played everywhere from Toronto, to Nashville, to Los Angeles. Theyve played every club in Los Angeles including world famous clubs like "The Viper Room", "The Whisky", "The Troubadour", "The Mint", "The Garage", "The Gig", "The Joint"pretty much every major club you can imagine. The single has put the band in the national spotlight. Soon to become international. And all of this leads to a great tour this summer. Make sure you check them out on their own club tour, and on the "2004 Vans Warped Tour"
J4 is managed by Brian Lowe, (Brian Lowe Management) who has worked with many major recording artists.("Macy Gray", "Perfect Circle"," 311" etc..)
