Hi, I'm ixi, and I'm 20. In the past I've been an all-electronic composer, but for the last year I've been composing acoustic works, mainly quartets. I like to think I'm creative (hehe) and being a musician is something I just have to do, it's like breathing.
I grew interested in computer music when I was 14 and my dad bought me a $40 loop-based program that I outgrew within the year. I moved onto Acid Pro, and then I was bestowed with a small MIDI keyboard and Reason 1.01. I now use Reason 2.5, Digital Performer 4.0 (if I have the motivation and time, and I'm prepared to tear my hair out) and on occasion, when I'm feeling wild, Max/MSP + Jitter. I've collaborated on occasion with vocalists, which is great fun, and I hope to incorporate my own vocals someday. At this point, I have absolutely no plans on signing a record deal, even though I've been endlessly urged to. I'm currently composing acoustic works but have not lost the experience I've gained in the electronic world. My dream is to write scores for film, mainly independent.
Vaughan Williams, Stravinsky, Arvo Part, Enigma, Electric Universe, Electronic stuff.
M-Audio Ozone, Reason 2.5, DP 4.0, and SIBELIUS 3.1
I'm a Music composition major at college. Writing music is probably my favorite thing to do, and I love to hear from people and talk about music. I'm definitely the only redheaded female composition major at my school, which is kind of cool. It's nice being in a small music department, in some ways.
