We play an Industrial-Metal like Rammstein or Marilyn Manson (Antichrist Superstar period), with also some gothic influences.Band/artist history
The band was formed on May 2000 by Shesa (vocals) and Corax (drums), initially as a cover band named Next. After many changes in line-up, Next get definitively complete with three new entries: Caos (synth & loops), Metustria (guitar) and Halphas (bass). Right now, the band starts to elaborate its own sounds with the help of all its members. After playing in many pubs of their city (Palermo), Next make a great performance in Partanna (TP), in occasion of the festa dellartigianato 2001. In October 2001 is recorded at Raven Studios the first own demo-cd of the band titled Tied to the strings, which includes 6 songs. This ones are a mixture of some different music styles: Hard Rock guitars meet Industrial and Black Metal sounds, creating painful and sick atmospheres. In the songs lyrics theres the metaphorical vision of a caged mankind, slave of its society which creates false behaviours and loneliness. After recording the first demo the band enters in the Italian Metal Alleance and brings part of Screams from Italy VI, an online compilation promoted by Dawn of Sadness ( italian label ). In summer 2002 Halphas gets out from the band and Syl (the actual bass-player) takes his place. So that, after some other live concert in Sicily, Next prepare the recordings of the new material, composed by Caos and arranged by all members. The new songs are such different from the ones of the first demo; they are now more industrial-oriented, thanks by the improve of electronic parts and by an heaviest guitar sound, much more powerful than before. The new demo, titled mind collapse, is recorded in three different studies and mixed finally at Trinakria Terror Studios (Palermo). After the recordings the band decides to change its moniker from Next to Ismand to release the second demo with the new name.
Mind collapse is actually beeing diffused to media (web-zines, fan-zines...) and Ism are now searching for a good contract and also a good booking agency for live concerts inside and outside Italy.Have you performed in front of an audience?Actually just in our country, Italy.
