Welcome to my site for Ishah 'El theatre arts. I'm Elliott. I'm a writer, composer, artist, designer & director of Ishah 'El, a non-profit cultural performing arts company involved in the development & promotion of theatre, music, dance and art of the world.

We will be performing locally in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts.
Your musical influences
My style in music composition is obviously influenced by some well recognized artists:
Mozart, Gioachino Rossini, David Byrne, King Crimson, Peter Gabriel, Todd Rundgren, Frank Zappa, Carla Bley, Charles Mingus, Ornette Coleman, Carl Stalling, Thomas Newman, Van Dyke Parks, Harry Partch, Silvestre Revueltas and Charles Ives.
Forms & Styles:
Gypsy music, Klezmer, Qawalli, Qasidah, Ghazals and Taqsim, Brazilian Foro, Portuguese Fado, Mexican Conjunto, Soukous, and various folk idioms from around the world.
Currently I've been listening to a lot of Cafe Tacuba and some really great, lively guitar music from Mali and South Africa.
