Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
My stagename became I&J in 1995, when I entered into my "battlerap era". After I left a group (wasn't on one accord) and a group left me (Would've been a breadwinner and the least respected) all I had were scraps of verses containing my testimonies. From then on, I have noticed the power in words from the repercussions that I have experienced. I am entering into a new era as I write this bio. I am writing lyrics that, Lord willing, line up with sections of the Bible. This helps me remember what I read.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I take any mic that is given to me. I have been on the mic at the Columbus Convention Center, Universities, Children events, churches, bars.........anywhere.
Your musical influences
There are so many people that have been an influence to me in hip hop music, that I may not be able to name them all. I respect KRS-One (just to name at least one) and anyone who uses hip hop to enlighten me as a listener. (I more recently dig listening to) Todd Bangz, Cross Movement, and other cats on 88.7 FM in Columbus, OH. Good music is good music and I enjoy just about every genre.
