Long Island's Interface, founded by Eric Eldredge in 1993, produces its own style of electro, drawing from synthpop, trance, and industrial into its own sound.
Band/artist history
Interface... the very word means making the incompatible compatible. Finding unlike things and making them work with each other. Since 1993, Interface has been about finding different elements, different influences, different musical aesthetics, and putting them together. Interface is based on Long Island, New York. Chief songwriter and producer Eric is joined onstage by Jonny Retro (keyboards) and brother Evan (guitars, keyboards). Following a series of EP's released as demo tapes, Interface's debut album, THE ARTEMIS COMPLEX, surfaced in 1999, earning a distribution deal with New Jersey label Tinman Records. After a layoff that saw the band greatly improve its recording environment, Interface released the breakthrough album ANGELS IN DISGUISE in summer 2002, to great critical acclaim and widespread air and club play. Through the strengths of songs like "Wasted Time", "Temperature" and the title track, the album put Interface on the electro/EBM map. Such success was not to last; Tinman ceased operations at the end of 2004, deleting the WASTED TIME and DISGUISED AS ANGELS EP's. Forging ahead with the material written for their followup album, Interface has been actively seeking a new label to release the third offering, BEYOND HUMANITY, scheduled for fall 2005. The album features a harder, edgier sound than before and showcases the first major studio contributions by Jonny and Evan.

We have switched to an almost entirely computer-based setup recently, based on Steinberg's Nuendo software, and all the plug-ins you can imagine.
