Darryl Vining - the drummer - It all started with Darryl, a vision and how God wants to use a rock & roll ministry in these last days to reach the lost. Inner State was born.
Martin Torrez - Lead Vocalist / Guitarist - one of the songwriters of the group. He is the second member to join the vision. Answering an ad only find out its was Darryl, an old friend he lost contact with and lives two blocks away. Marty Resides in Nashville, Tenn.
John Naylor - Bassist - is the gentle giant of the band. The last member to join. His bass playing has added the back bone needed to complete this ministry God has brought together.
Rick Chaffee - Lead Guitarist - is also a songwriter. The third to join. Rick ads the right blend of heavy metal to Martys pop songs to make it just the way we hope you like it.
Rick resides in Joshua Tree, California
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Started in 2004 with a simple mission to go into all the world and preach and rock the gospel of Jesus Christ. Ever since God has really established us as a genuine Christian Rock Group with a rockin Stage Show, perfect combination to bring the gospel to the masses who desperately need His forgivness and mercy as we all do.

Your musical influences
Beatles, The Who, Petra, DC Talk, anything that can be understood with a great hook or melody. Most of all Jesus Christ our Lord of Salvation.

Anything else?
All members have been in other bands. Darryl Vining was in a group called Holy Smoke which recorded an album , John Naylor was in a Top 40s band and played many years locally, Marty Torrez was in a band ministry called TThe Cutting Edge for 14 years and toured So. Cal and AZ. Rick Chaffee was in a secular heavy metal band until he gave his life to Jesus a couple of years ago.
