Infection (Aberdeen)

Fed up with all the different genres floating around Infection did the only thing possible to save themselves from being pigeon-holed into something which wasn't them - create a new on - it shall be known as Horrorcore (Hardcore Horrorpunk)
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
It would be Ross who would pose the question to Steve that would confirm the opening of a grave so deep it led straight to the bowel of Hell (and lunch). "Hey dude. Right I was wonderin' if you would be the lead guitarist in my band?" "Sure dude." "Cool." ...................................................The rest of the conversation was shit and bears no relvance to the moment that changed the lives of four young men (soon six, then five, then four again but we'll get to that later). The band would be called The Infected and the original line up was as follows - Kieron Lees - Vox/Bass, Ross Cowie and Steve Inglis- Axes (Guitars), Ally Milne - Drums. The first practice of this new punk band was in late November 2003 and the fearsome foursome would spend the next four months rockin' out covers from punk bands such as Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards, Rancid and Misfits. Eventually after many a month of practise and many a gallon of blood, sweat and assorted soft drinks the band would receive news of a gig. The gig would be a High School Talent Show (to take place in a church ironically enough!) and they were to choose one song to showcase to the world (well, about 100 or so mums and grannies - just the type of audience a punk band loves!). After a shockingly good performance of "Die Die My Darling" they would come second behind a chick with a ballad. But the choosing of this song would lead the band in a new direction - Horror Punk. They would attempt to follow in the footsteps of bands such as Misfits, Balzac ( Japanese horror-rock band) and Karloff (local band - very good - go see). The first showcasing of this new direction would be at another, bigger, High School Variety show at the AECC. After changing their name to Infection they would choose 3 Misfits song to cover - the much requested Die Die my Darling, Scream and 1,000,000 Years BC. They were joined on guitar by Lewis Yim and Vox by Big Dave. After the sabotaging of Steve' Amplifier for unknown reasons they would find another one and still managed to rock the place. Unfortunatley tragedy hit the band when, just days after the gig, Ally decided he was suddenly the world's biggest twat and left for another band called "***** ** ****" - this would forever be known as the "Ally Incident". The band found his replacement though with drummer of several good bands - Dan. A shake up of the line-up was in order and Lewis Yim would take over Bass duties while Kieron would take Vox duties permanantley. The new and improved line-up of Infection was complete - Kieron - Vox, Ross and Inglis - Axes, Lewis - Bass and Dan - Drums. As of 19/07/04 Dan is no longer part of Infection and a new drummer has been brought it as his replacement (I'm sensing a Spinal-Tapesque theme to the band here!). The new drummer is called Mikey and will be the permanent drummer from this date. Line-up of Infection as of 19/07/04 - Kieron - Vox, Ross & Inglis - Axes, Lewis - Bass and Mikey - Drums. After months of work the Horror Town Demo was recorded on July 28th 2004. The band start gigging as of September '04 As of 19/10/04 Lewis leaves Infection to pursue other projects. The parting is on friendly terms and Kieron assumes the role of Bassist once again. Line-up of Infection as of 20/10/04 - Kieron - Vox & Bass, Ross and Steve - Axes, Mikey - Drummer
