Indie Kids at 30
The next evolution in garage bands. Two past-their-prime music geeks on distorted bass and vocals plus wack drum machine beats. In simpler terms, second-generation minimalist pop/rock.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The three members, RVeilands, Kevin Sun and Nathan Kenilworth III, played in Slowstarter together starting in 2002. When that project fell apart in 2003, we all pursued 'other musical avenues' but still jammed and collaborated in various contexts, namely the short-lived Hue and Losers of the Revolution. We returned to debase rock n' roll further in January 2007 under the guise of this band, with RVeilands on lead bass + vocals, Kevin Sun on rhythm bass + vocals, and Nathan as our drum machine button pusher.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Not yet. Nowhere. Probably. Maybe.
Your musical influences
For this band, imagine some amalgalm of the Ramones, Guided by Voices and Black Sabbath.
What equipment do you use?
Pretty shoddy stuff.
Anything else?
The beach.
