Incense is a supergroup of local artists from other projects. Each member bringing a wealth of experience. Travis and Mike have worked together for years and lend their experience as a tight, focused rythm section. James is a guitar prodigy coming from heavy bands with cutting edge stylye that really slays. Wade is an extremely talented vocalist who has worked with numerous bands both performing and recording.Band/artist history
The work of Mike and Travis can be previewed by going to CanyonClan.com. The CanyonClan project showed tremendous potential. Charlie Wildturkey is a virtuoso on the guitar and a talented vocalist. But, the project reached a certain point, and we weren't ready to step beyond that. Similarly, the projects James was working on met with falling outs of individuals involved in the ongoing processes of developing songs, practicing, and finding venues to gig them. We three began looking for a situation where mature responsible musicians could get together productively and go places with what we were doing. We discovered Wade (who is an old friend) was working in the recording industry (he runs his own studio) Travis approached Wade about getting involved as a vocalist and the project is moving forward...Have you performed in front of an audience?We all live in the greater Spokane area, and converge on Spokane to practice, record, and play live.
Your musical influences
We all have varied musical interests with many comparable interests. To say we are influenced by standards from the 80's like Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Judas Priest is not innaccurate. However, there's no denying modern influences like Pantera, HIM, or even light stuff like 3 doors down or Live.What equipment do you use?
Guitars are Schecter, Ibanez, ESP, etc.. Drums are TAMA with Zildjian or a custom made kit with Saluda cymbals. We have a wealth of electronics available to us, and work out of either of 2 private studios, and occsionally Wade's professional studio will be used to lay down market ready tracks.Anything else?
Incense is all about music which moves you, takes you places. But, it's not dance, or some trend music. It's music for the ages. Really, however, to really see what incense is all about you have to see us live!All comments (1)

Yeah, it's been a voyage getting this project off the ground. Everyone's excited. We're hoping to get some live shows going in the spring in support of our new CD. We haven't quite agreed on the name and artwork for the disc. But if you keep an eye on our soundclick site, you'll be among the first to get a preview...
