Incendium (finland)

Incendium was formed in1997 by Mika and Antti. Back then the band was called Black Shrine. Soon after Hannu joined to play drums and after few rehearsals Toni (guitar), Henna (violin) and Juha (vocals) joined the band and the first line-up was ready. First demo as Black Shrine was recorded in 1998 at the Test Music Studios. The same year the band got through some line-up changes and the name was changed to Incendium. Toni and Juha weren't in the line-up anymore and the new members were Aki (vocals) and Unski (guitar). Also Jarno (synths) joined the band. In February 1999 it was time to record first Incendium demo. Four songs of melodic death-metal were recorded again at the Test Music Studios. Reviews were good for that demo and everything seemed to be fine. First gigs were played that year. Later the same year Hannu decided to leave the band, he was more interested in playing guitar. Teemu replaced him as a drummer and the band continued with 7 members. In the year 2000 everything seemed to collapse. Unski and Jarno left the band and the rehearsal place went down. Incendium was on a break for a while, but the will to play was strong. In the summer of 2001 Petri (synths) joined the band, but because we still didn't have any place to rehearse we started to compose and practise at his home. After a while Hannu came back, but this time as a guitarist. And with Hannu we got a place to have our rehearsals again. Teemu was too busy, but we found Otto to play drums. In October 2002 Incendium was heading in to studio again. This time we went to Black Room -studio. Four songs were again recorded, but in four years our music had changed a lot. The music is more peaceful and melancholic and the growls have been dropped for cleaner singing. The demo was named to After Silence. Henna is living in a different town and she didn't have time to be a full member of Incendium, but she played violins for one song on After Silence.
