A dark, gothic, symphonic and alternative rock band with 2 chick vocalists to die for.Band/artist history
We started at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY SCHOOL because of an event called MARIANS AT PLAY. The first lineup ng band was vocalists JENNY LACSON, RACHEL PANGANIBAN and VJ MEDINA, lead guitarist LLESNER ESTRELLA, rhythm guitarist KYLE OFIANA, bassist NERRY BRETANA, keyboardist ALRICK GONZALEZ, and drummer ALVARO NACINO. This lineup was called HYPNAUTICA II. Hypnautica II plays for First Friday masses and special events in IHMS. This lineup also did a gig on MARY HELP OF CHRISTIANS PARISH called UNPLUGGED. This lineup continued for months and played covers mainly from EVANESCENCE. Another lineup was formed when a gig was called on Coastbay Bar on December 29, 2003 which was LARA MEI QUJANO on vocals, NESLLY BRETANA (Nerry's older sister) and LLESNER ESTRELLA on guitars, NERRY BRETANA on bass, ALRICK GONZALEZ on keyboards, and NAP LANDICHO on the drums. This lineup was called HYPNAUTICA and was good only for that gig.
Due to some personal problems inside the band, axeman Llesner Estrella and vocalist VJ Medina stepped out of the band and Hypnautica II was slightly disbanded became silent for a while until a memorable event came and brought the band alive again. This was a chance to play at DON BOSCO TECHNICAL INSTITUTE OF MAKATI’s event called BAND AGE which was an interschool band competition. Its lineup (and also the current lineup as of today) was JENNY LACSON and RACHEL PANGANIBAN on vocals, virtuoso axeman KYLE OFIANA, bassist extraordinaire NERRY BRETANA, keyboard virtuoso ALRICK GONZALEZ, and beat master ALVARO NACINO. They played covers form EVANESCENCE and took home the 1st runner up prize. This lineup was called FIRST FRIDAY. This lineup is also called IMMORTELLE and is the most successful and stable. On the other hand, First Friday has an instrumental division called SOLID TENSION EXPERIMENT (hehehe) composed of the extraodrdinary instrumentalists of the band (Ky, Nerry, Alrick, and Alvaro).
As of now, the band will try to release an EP by the summer of 2005 called ‘Immortal Symphony’ when all songs are arranged and rehearsed.Have you performed in front of an audience? In school, and sometimes in church and in some gigs. Yes we do like it, especially when the crowd cheers for our vocalists.
One special moment was when we won a battle of the bands. It was our first victory though it was only second place, we felt like the best band in the world.
Your musical influences
One greatest influence of our band is Evanescence, but we can play almost any kind of genre; but when we are writing songs, we emulate a Dream Theater/Symphony X style in our compositions.Anything else?
If you have any questions or any shit you would like to say, just mail me at ken_rei29@yahoo.com
Currently, they have one instrumental track written and arranged by Alrick Gonzalez called ‘Prologue: The Risening’ on soundclick.com and a following prog metal single called ‘Epilogue: Descencion’(demo) by Ky Ofiana and Alrick Gonzalez.
