IMBALANCE

IMBALANCE is five musicians from Gloucester, Massachusetts that perform rock music. Hailing classic influences like Zeppelin, Sabbath and Aerosmith and adding more modern stylings of such bands as Stone Temple Pilots, Candlebox and Staind. Their ability to boogie-down yet at the same time rock your socks off is a fresh breathe of air in the music world.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Formed in 1996 in Gloucester Massachusetts. Five seasoned musicians began work on a hard hitting ear catching cover band. This remained their bag untill creative forces beyond anyone's control began to surface. It was then that the group took a turn towards writing and recording original material. A 12 song CD, "Category: Rock", was created and released and now the band performs a mix of covers and originals through out their live shows. The band is; Art Gobeil - vocals, Rick Williamson - Guitar, John Silviera - Guitar, Lou Orlando - Bass, Vinny Gianni - Drums.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
The band thoroughly enjoys live shows. Since 1996 Imbalance has been performing to live audiences in the New England area. Some spots include The Lobster Trap Pub in Essex, MA - Cameron's Lounge in Gloucester, MA - and The Diplomat in Saugus, MA. Our first performance at one particular club was memorable; It was Friday the 13th and everything was going smoothly, about halfway through our second set of songs the electricity went dead on the whole street. Hoping that the lights would come back on - we grabbed our acoustics and began serenading the crowd to candle light - they loved it and the electricity came back on just in time to finish the last set.
Your musical influences
Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Stone Temple Pilots, Cream, Candlebox, UFO, Blue Oyster Cult, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles
What equipment do you use?
Electric and acoustic guitars, Bass guitar, Drums, Mandolin, 12 string acoustic guitar
Anything else?
With such a wide range of styles and genres in music at the fingertips of virtually every person on Earth, it is very hard to expect anything major to happen to a small local band - but just knowing that people in Australia or Japan (or anywhere in the world) are diggin' the music you create is a form of flattery to overwhelming to describe.
