IMAJ
IMAJ is a hot new R&B/soul/hip-hop group based out of the ATL. The groups four members are Rev (Reivon Martin), Pfaize One (Zachary Faison), T-Real (Tyrell Gilbert), and Choir Boi (Joel Young).
This vibrant new group is bringing real R&B back to the forefront with melodic vocals and harmonies that are sure to breathe a breath of fresh air into the music industry.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The group started back in the summer of 2002 when the guys all met at a church youth service. Choir Boi and Pfaize One were singing at the service and afterwards Rev came on stage and joined them singing. Immediately, all the heads in the building turned towards the stage and people were mesmerized at the naturally melodic blend of the voices. Soon afterwards, Choir Boi invited his childhood friend (T-Real) to become a part of the group......and the rest is history!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, we do perform live all around the ATL.
Your musical influences
First and foremost, Boyz II Men. We are also heavily influenced by all the old R&B groups like The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Spinners, The Chi-Lites, and the The O'Jays. More modern influences also include New Edition and gospel sensation The Winans.
