Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I'm 38 and have been in the game for 24 years now. Rhyming since 1983 and doing beats for just a few years. Opened a show for MC Lyte back in 1994.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Have done no shows in awhile and I'm fiending to get back in the groove. Made my bones back in 1996 in Atlanta. It was open mic night (same club where Ray Lewis got jammed up) and I stole the show. The only cat to get the mic 3 times. The 3rd time was to close the show.
Your musical influences
Raised on jazz, but hip-hop is my love and beats are now my passion. Influenced by "real" hip-hop. Old school cat with new ideas. My main beat influences are Premier, Dre, Pete Rock, DITC, Beatnuts, Mantronix and such. Cats like Timbaland, Kanye West and Neptunes get my props and attention for their innovation.
What equipment do you use?
FL Studio Producer, MPC2000 has been what I've used mainly thus far. I plan to expand my horizons sicne I'm about to get back into it.
