Welcome to my Soundclick page. Introductions are tedious, I'm illegit, I'm a part of (along with , , , and Casual. We rep the Kansas City suburban area, as well as Chi town.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Personally, Def Star (friend) influenced me to truly get into hip hop. I was always into rap in High School, but I can't honestly say I appreciated the art of lyrics. I never got into anything underground until I started hanging out with Def, and he opened my eyes to intelligent lyrics and amazing artists. After that I started honing my own writing skills, and freestyling, because I think everyone has some kind of message to deliver, including myself. After about a year, I met up with Acute, who shared an interest in the same ideas. We then later met up with Cerious and Casual (in a round about way, through Def Star) and came to be Urbane.
Your musical influences
My favorite artist has got to be Slug of Atmosphere. I am also influenced by Eminem (although his latest album makes me think twice about that, his early ones are still on my regular rotation in my cdplayer), Brother Ali, Aesop Rock, Eyedea and Abilities, Sage Francis, Murs, Heiroglyphics, and a multitude of other artists who have inspired me.
