IGNITION Ministries

Hello, My name is David Johnson and I formed IGNITION after I was invited to minister at a Youth Revival. The band the church had booked, backed out and they called me to see if I knew of another band. God had taught me how to play guitar and I was used to singing solos at church, so I contacted a few friends who also played instruments and that is how IGNITION was formed. We sounded horrible during our first few practices, but something changed when we would get up to play and lead worship. The power of God would always fall and people would get set free and delivered, just during worship.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The band started in 1998, but we went our different ways in 2001, when I decided it was time for me to focus on building a life for myself and my new wife. It was hard, because the band had seen such success in the 3 years we were IGNITION, but I knew that was what God wanted. It is now 2006 and God has now released in my spirit to form IGNITION again. Earlier this year in Februray, I started recording a worship album in a professional studio. This was a leap of faith and it is something that I have never done. I am recording 5 originals and 5 covers. I hope the album will be finished by the end of this year. Then IGNITION will have a CD release party.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Ignition used to play live all over North Carolina. Mostly for revivals and youth rallies. For the past 2 year I have been a worship leader at my church. We recently lead worship for a huge Spiritual Impartation Conference with Paula White, Judy Jacobs, Perry Stone, and T.L. Lowry.
Your musical influences
I love the bands U2, Coldplay, and Delirious.
What equipment do you use?
Schecter and Fender guitars. Line6 amps and pedals. Korg (Triton) keyboard. Pearl Drums. Paste Cymbals.
