i drew it for a girl named invisible
matt and i (nat) have been friends for quite some time now. we've been in bands together before, but nothing quite parallels the emotion we put into this band. it's sheer, unbridled, brutal emotions; love, hate, anguish, despair. a thousand words. we do not try to be any genre in particular, instead, we try only to please ourselves. we make songs that make us cry, simply put.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
matt(hew) screams and bleeds and whispers through the shadows.
nat(haniel) plays the piano and sings the songs of ennui and a shattered heart.
we started together about two years ago, in the summer. matt called me up and said "hey, we should start a band that's just piano and screaming," and i said, "hell yes." so we did. we started playing in my basement with a crummy old casio keyboard, and i somehow got the job of singing. then, we moved upstairs to my piano, and practiced with all the doors shut so people couldn't hear matt tearing his vocal cords raw. he would scream so hard he would almost pass out. true story, i swear.
we played a show or two, but pianos are always hard to come by. we released a few really crappy demos that we poured our hearts and souls into, but no one was really into that.
so we've re-formed as of late, and i've been rebuilding my piano technique, if you will. we've added drums, and tried to go back to the original idea of piano and screaming. we also have songs on the guitar, for a bit of variety.
we will continue to make songs that make us cry, and nothing else. everything we make comes from the heart ... so much so, you can see it glistening with blood if you tilt your head just right. ha. ha ha ha.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
we play live, but it's hard to find venues with pianos. well, venues that would bring in an audience that would appreciate us. but we're trying. and yes, we love to play live.
Your musical influences
far too many to list.
What equipment do you use?
a baby grand piano, drums, vocals, and raw emotion.
