Band/artist history
Ian has played/improvised with many talented musicians both well known and unknown...
Have you performed in front of an audience?
There are rare sightings - and I like watching people's reaction. They either love or hate my music - never in-between...
Your musical influences
Way too many, but for ID purposes: ethnic musics from around the globe - India, Africa, Middle East, Asia, Latin America... unusual electric guitarists like David Torn, Steve Tibbetts, etc... Fourth world meldings ala Jon Hassell, Bill Laswell, etc...
What equipment do you use?
Steinberger, Roland, Alesis, Johnson Labs, Arboretum, Sonic Foundry, Lexicon, Ohmboyz, Ultrafunk Sonitus, Anwida, Izotope, LP Percussion...
Anything else?
I'd like to thank the academy...

I like the stuff I heard. Keep the creativity going.
At me updating! Call on!
Hi Ian, just a quick note that I posted this over at Progressive Ears www.progressiveears.com and at rec.music.progressive on usenet. I know of at least 4 folks that listened to it and liked it. Good luck!
I noticed this evening that "Ark On Mount Arafat" by our fellow PRC sampler CD mate Ian Naismith is at #6 in the World Fusion chart at Soundclick. It's a very short track (2:17) with driving ethnic percussion and some sort of middle-eastern honking instrument (that's a technical term, BTW). It features blistering electric guitar work that will peel the paint off the wall. Give it a spin *loud* and help get Ian's track to #1, will ya? And then buy the fabulous PRC sampler...it's only $7, available from all the usual online prog suspects... TIA.
