A lot of the first tracks are old unreleased iLLrated tracks or collabs the newer tracks are towards the bottom, thanks for listening! iLLrated, born Ryan Andrew Matty March 1st 1984. Ryan grew up is a kid just loving music, many kinds of music. Even at the age of 3 Ryan was already singing lyrics to the famous rock song "We Built This City" by Starship. Like most new emcee's coming out today, he grew up listening to N.W.A, Eazy E, Public Enemy, ect. It wasn't until 1993 when Ryan heard this recorded cassette tape his friend gave him. Ryan went home immediately to put on the tape and he hears the song "SLAM" by Onyx. Instantly falls in love with the whole bacdafucup album. From that point Ryan was a straight hardcore hip hop lover. At the age of 11 Ryan started writing his own raps, mostly just emulating other emcee's. Ryan for a while would kick freestyles at the middle school he attended, he liked making the other kids laugh. Also in 1995 at 11 Ryan was recording his own jams over other people instrumentals on his parents karaoke machine. Going through several emcee names, K.I.D.,Soulja J, Cryptic, none of the names stuck but he stuck with the music. It wasn't until 1998 before Ryan discovered what true lyrist were. He would start writing lyrics over the net and have people critique his writings. He did this for two years until he felt his lyrics were strong enough to really take recording serious. In 1999 Ryan started attending high school, that was a difficult time for Ryan mentally but he was still doing the music everyday it was his release, like a diary. At the age of 14 Ryan was getting into drugs, starting fights at school. Year 2000 was even a rougher year, Ryan's grandmother whom he was close to passed away. It devastated Ryan, now dealing the anxiety and depression it was soon after his grandmothers death Ryan attempted suicide downing 90 valium he was rushed to the hospital, stomach pumped and transferred to a mental health care facility. While Ryan was in the hospital(Palo Verde)he was diagnosed with a bipolar disorder that would eventually design, mold, and sculpture his style and sound you hear today. Ryan was soon released with a new attitude and a new style. It was the making of "ILLRATED". Tracks were more grimy less gimmicky. In 2001 iLLrated link up with former Tampa emcee Focuz aka TrakMarx to create the crew Grime N Reason. GNR made a little internet buzz nothing major but they did have a small fan base, since they all did there tracks through the net, seeming Focuz was in Tampa and iLLrated was in Tucson the group didnt survive long. iLLrated was also working with a couple close friends he went to school with Ephewe and Tuff Kookyz, and they eventually started calling themselves "The Liquid Sound Disciples". A couple tracks were made and that was about it from them for awhile. Around Aug. of 2002 Ryan now iLLrated linked up with a local producer/rapper in Tucson. Though iLLrated not liking this producers beats still agreed to be down with a crew called "The Mighty Roughshod". The group consisted of Double O, Agent Flo and of course iLLrated. The trio set out on a journey to get heard. Eventually the crew was selected to open up for 2 Live Crew, which was the first time iLLrated ever performed. The crowd reaction pleased iLLrated and knew that this was something he wanted to do for the rest of his life. The Roughshod went on winning talent shows, and in 2003 finished and released there first and final LP "Hip Hop Love Affair". iLLrated was not happy with the final outcome of the project, and It seemed to be that way with the listeners as well. Also iLLrated wasn't no longer seeing eye to eye with the Roughshod's founder Double OG. After time iLLrated felt like he had no creative control or say, so in in late 2003 iLLrated departed from the Roughshod to pursue his musical own endeavors. Soon reestablishing with a good friend in high school David aka Ephewe. They eventually became roommates and started writing music all the time and scheming new ideas to be original. At the time they didn't have there own facilities to record they were going around collaborating with many local artist, like Habeas Corpus, Meskaline just to name a few. 2004 The Liquid Sound Disciples were reunited, iLLrated, Ephewe and Tuff Kookyz. All it took was a new computer a cheap dynamic mic and some pink panty hoes for a popper stopper and like that they were making music not everyday but they were making music none the less. At that time they werent even concerned about releasing there music, they really just wanted to develop there own sound. Later that year iLLrated's brother Tyler"Doc Cause"Matty was added to the LSD team, they got new equipment and iLLrated also became a dad that year to a baby girl they named Bianca. Mean time music was still being done LSD started collaborating more with outsiders. LSD was doing collabs with D. Gant (r&b singer), Habeas Corpus, Black C'z, General X, Lipz Luscious, ect.... 2005 seemed to be a complete 180 from the prior year. Less music was getting done, The Liquid Sound Disciples were just falling apart. iLLrated was no longer seeing eye to eye with his music partners. iLLrated and Ephewe where still doing tracks but there relationship ended on a bad note. In Aug. of 2005 The Liquid Sound Disciples as you knew it(iLLrated, Ephewe, Tuff Kookyz & Doc Cause) was a wrap, trashed, done. Doc Cause moved to Beaver falls, PA(30 mins. away from Pittsburgh shout out to the 724 people!!!) Sep. of 05 iLLrated moved to Beaver Falls with his girl and 1 year old daughter to start a whole new life. Doc Cause and iLLrated went to do there own thing and Ephewe and Tuff Kookyz ended up do there own thing. While on the east coat iLLrated discovered new ways and new styles to keep his sound updated. In 2006 iLLrated linked up with Germany producer Ulliversal and Germany DJ/producer DJ Home to create some real head nodding music, going out of iLLrateds usual boundaries to create very underground/commercial vibe. Like the track WHY OH WHY very radio friendly, unlike the Ulliversal/DJ home track feat. ILLrated and General X which is of a underground and very raw. Also in 2006 iLLrated linked up with South Carolina emcee NoGimiks and they created the group The Unknowns. The Unknowns linked up on mad tracks there album/lp entitled Unsolved Mysteries is still in the making and got post pone for legit reasons. ILLrated & Doc Cause remained doing music but now Doc Cause was really focusing on producing, which was one of there problems was finding the production. ILL & Doc would perform shows in Pittsburgh from time to time, but the Pittsburgh scene was based on who you know. Late 06 early 07 iLLrated got discouraged and went into a little hiatus mode where he didnt do music for months. He was also working so much to provide for his family he lost touch for awhile. Dec. of 07 iLLrateds second daughter Kendra was born. Though that didnt make things easier it did give iLLrated the ambition to get back in this like no other. Early 2008 iLLrated and Ephewe made amends over the phone, and iLLrated made plans to make it back to he old pueblo. Mid 2008 iLLrated met Pittsburgh vet emcee A-Jaxx and they worked on several dope jams. After meeting with A-Jaxx and creating amazing music together, A-Jaxx noticed how dope iLLrateds mixing and mastering skill were and asked iLLrated if he be down to mix and master most of his LP Harb & Salam This is my Jihad. iLLrated agreed and made it happen and on July 24, 2008 the album was released on Godsendant, which the album credits give iLLrated lead engineer for the album, plus iLLrated is featured on the album on the track Yellow Fever feat. Another Pittsburgh vet EMS and of course iLLrated. ILLrated also started teaming up with Queens, New York producer CJ Beatz, and has already done many collaborations with CJ Beatz. Such tracks as That Aint Weakness featuring The Zodiac(ceo of Redline Designs) and brother Doc Cause, the hype anthem track Full Forced featuring Doc Cause, iLLrated, Habeas Corpus, Nogimiks, A-Jaxx, Ephewe, and Tuff Kookyz. ILLrated and CJ Beatz are currently working on a LP Back to Boom Bap should be out late 2009. October 12th, 2008 iLLrated and his family return back to Tucson, immediately getting back to work with his former and original crew LSD The Liquid Sound Disciples . Now the tracks are tighter and more fined tuned then ever the LSD crew is here to bring the rugged back. Making sure to incorporate his highly influenced boom bap hardcore style iLLrated also could be considered one of most versatile emcee's in the game. With his fascination with the dark side, iLLrated combines both, his skill and experiences to form a new original hardcore hip hop sound that's tailored made to capture the listeners that relate to our societies hardships. Thats iLLrated be on the look out in the near future, because hes cumming to rape your ears!!!
