Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Huma is a three piece indie-rock / electro-pop band from North Jersey. Brian (guitar/vocals) and Jess (guitar/vocals) began writing music in the summer of 2002 as an acoustic duo, and quickly incorporated Laura (keyboards/vocals) into the group. In April of 2003 the trio played their first show at CB’s lounge in New York City, followed by many performances around the New York and New Jersey area. In the summer of 2003, Huma took a new turn with their sound, taking their cute acoustic songs and adding electronic drum beats to fill out the mix. Drawing influences from bands like The Flaming Lips, Belle and Sebastian, and The Postal Service, they recently took their sound into the studio and recorded their first EP. Melodious tracks filled with lush keyboard atmospheres and danceable beats brings Huma to life.
