How To Loot Brazil
since 2006 german three piece HOW TO LOOT BRAZIL has made edgy pop music its motto:
snotty, angry and partly weird but with radiant catchy hooks, sometimes
rough and crossing the border to hardcore and post punk with adamant guitars and basses, sometimes danceable
and electronic, always eclecticly pushing forward and developing without any limitations in
sound and styles.
doa-magazine aptly termed: "it's a genre-bending mash-up that succeeds without condescending"!
further press comments:
"probably the best indie band in the country" (musikreviews.de) / "hits that you won't be able to get out of your head" (in-your-face.de) / "fantastic album, teeming with hits" (ox)
in terms of courage, quality and creativity, this one beats the majority of current releases (medienkonverter) / hooks and danceability brought to perfection (blueprint)
a great indie-disco-wave-punk cocktail (soundmag) / a fantastic album with intoxicating melodies that manages to top their debut (sonic seducer)
a big hit! brilliant (pinhead.de) / "better than the band itself might imagine" (Visions) / "the ultimate post-punk new wave orgasm" (triggerfish)Band/artist history
in fact this is a one man group with various singers (since october we have a new permanent drummer). i write, arrange and record the songs, all instruments, guitars, basses, keys, drums etc. then i allocate the vocal tracks. that's it. i do it since 1993 for several bands and projects but how to loot brazil will be my final band. definitely ;-)Have you performed in front of an audience?yes! in 2013 we'll be back on stage!
Your musical influences
i like music with edges and balls. fast, rough, straight, not tooooo easy, sort of demanding but not over-intellectual or arty farty. i'm inspired by forward russia, melvins, the smiths, depeche mode, help she can't swim, maths class, we are the physics, the robocop kraus, foals, hellacopters, entombed, sonic youth, bad brains, dinosaur jr., joy division, magazine, wire, abba, daf, ideal and so on. i'm really not into mainstream music but i love strong and catchy hooks and appreciate good pop songs, and by now i'm starting to hate foo fighters for their aor-stadium rock style. What equipment do you use?
'72 fender precision bass / gretsch guitars / orange amp / reason 6 softwareAnything else?
