Honorable Negus, former member of the extended Sound System from Jamaica called New York King Jammys, operated by his uncle known as Pirate Beardy the selector, with Unknown Solder, Freedom Fighter, Jah Mickey, Sluggy Ranks, Marshall Don, Cane Juice, Johnny Osbourne, Malibu, Josey Wales, Brigadier, Nicodemous, Early B, Major Mackrel, Papa Biggie, Bobby Culture, Santa Ranking, Super Cat, Dj Daddy, Trevor Sparks, Louie Ranking, Johnny Ringo, Frankie Paul, Leroy Smart to name just a small sample of artists who regulated the Sound System often. As a young man of 13, Negus was heavily influenced by these and many other known and unknown artists. Along with the Sound System their was also New York Jammy’s Record shop Located in the Bronx. There Negus absorbed an enormous amount of reggae music from all over the world. Following the passion further he attended Audio Engineering School At The Institute Of Audio Research in Manhattan to enhance his skills. Again at school he met influential people who motivated him to make demos, and till this day he hasn’t kick the habit. Now in his prime he is ready to unleash "Fire," as he would say. Modeling his style as a mixture of Major Worries, Buju Banton, Sizzla Kalonji, Brigadier Jerry The Teacher, Burning Spear, Bob Marley, Super Cat, Burru Banton, Professor Nuts and Shabba Ranking he delivers as powerful as his musical teachers. Now the co-executive and engineer of Gran Paw Entertainment he is recording and producing independently. His first project The Paw Project (http://www.cdbaby.com/all/thepaw), released spring of 2005, a various artists demo compilation with reggae, rap and r&b. Beginning to release his unlimited albums Honorable Negus will inevitably make a powerful impact in and on the music business with his rigid militant lyrics and sing-jaying sweetness hailing Rastafari and promoting black consciousness.
