HONEST POD
Honest Pod is a heavy-mellow-emo-pop-rock band from the Midwest with intentions of becoming part of the new standard for which all rock bands will adhere to, writing intelligent, wise, mature music. A much needed necessity in today's music scene of "sound-a-likes."
With dynamic vocal passages, winding guitar melodies, seamless bass lines, and high energy percussion this band has created a sound that can only be described as "real" and truly unique for these times.
Honest Pod is NOT some pre-fab rock band with a clever wardrobe writing about fictitious pain and suffering. This is a band that attempts to narrate the beauty and ugliness of life while invoking the need for a greater effort to keep real what is real, and not follow the trends of today.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The band released their first disc, HADTABOB, in February 2000 helping them secure a large local fanbase, as well as, a production deal with Paradise Alley Productions and Nickelback Producer - Dale Penner.
In the summer of 2002, the band entered Pogo Studios in Champaign,IL.(HUM, Shiner, Mark Rubel)w/Dale to record what would become - Seven On My Side. The new CD contains 5 new songs recorded, mixed, and produced by Dale, as well as 2 additional new bonus tracks produced by the band themselves.
Seven On My Side has since garnished three #1 singles on Active Rock Radio (WQLZ 92.7) and it's first single , Apathena, has been added to regular rotation on Active Rock Radio in central Illinois in Nov. 2003.
Honest Pod is currently touring the Midwest region in support of the new disc with several opening slots for Soil, Smile Empty Soul, Seether, and V Shape Mind).
To define and deliver. To create and express. To believe and to project. Honest Pod brings these ideas to the stage and their live performance is one not to be missed. Honest Pod has the determination and passion to be a band with staying power in today's music scene.
Honest Pod is the breathe of fresh-air in the sea of "sound-a-likes" that have polluted the genre of rock music with stereotypical lyrics of self-indulgence and vanity. If uplifting, thought provoking dynamically challenging music is a must for your tired ears, make sure to include Honest Pod in your musical diet.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We are regional band that has performed across the Midwest from Detroit to Houston with various national bands like Mudvayne, Smile Empty Soul, V Shape Mind, and Soil, as well as, many local bands - The Pimps, Lidlifter, Clone, N.I.L.8, Fucnky Circus Fleas, & many more.
Special moments seem to those unexpected times when a song seems to reach everyone in the room, as well as, the band. It seems like there is an energy at that moment that can not be marketed, fabricated, or duplicated by any conscience effort.
