Band/artist history
Manifested in 2004, Homewrecker first began as a songwriting partnership between vocalist/ guitarist Jennie Rushing, and guitarist Andrea Jasek (Liquor Box). Andrea was the first musician I met that shared the same ideas and attitude I had about what kind of driving force I wanted this band to be. Says Rushing of Jasek. We knew we were band mates before we even played together. This certain chemistry can be witnessed in every aspect of Homewrecker, from the record to the intensity of the live show. We tried out a lot of decent musicians and played with a lot of people who just didnt quite understand what we were after musically and conceptually, adds Jasek. We became very frustrated, because we just werent willing to settle. We give one hundred percent to this band and we werent willing to except a half assed intension. We were prepared to try out every musician in Seattle until we found a match. This stick to your guns attitude paid off as the girls ran into bassist Melinda Jensen (Mindshaker), who was on the prowl to join a new band after the deterioration of her previous project. She is perfect for us, but we didnt consider her in the beginning because she was in another band. Says Rushing. With Jensen on board the band set out to begin compiling songs for their debut record. This game will not break me! It comes down to what you know! Fires Rushing, in the opening chorus of Homewreckers title track, What You Know. The song contains the no-bullshit, rock edge the band set out to achieve. After learning producer Clyde Holly (Three Doors Down) was interested in working with them, the band had three months to put together a ten song record. With no time to find a permanent drummer, the band recruited Chris Gohde (My Sisters Machine, Mistrust) to hold down the pulse on the record. We chose to record in Biloxi with Clyde Holly because he is a phenomenal producer and we all respect his work so much. For us, traveling outside of Seattle and outside of our comfort zone was both inspiring and important to our creative growth. It gave us the all balls out, dont look back attitude we wanted on the record. Says Rushing. What You Know, was recorded over an impressive four day period at Holly House Recording Studio in Biloxi, Mississippi. Rushings raw, melodic voice is paired perfectly with Jaseks temperamental and distinct guitar tone, and Jensens driving, low end force. We all feel like modern rock needs a swift kick in the ass. We are ready to deliver. Jasek says of their future. Upon arrival back in Seattle the band had one agenda, find a permanent drummer, and bring a much needed revival of pure, driving, in your face rock back to the music scene. Marcus Zuger was quickly added to the Homewrecker roster. With his destructive hard hitting assault on the skins, and his uncompromising attitude, Zuger is an obvious match. With the addition of Jensen and Zuger, the monster has been conceived. Music that captures and expresses everything that is uninhibited, uncompromising, explosive rock and roll, Homewrecker pulls off an all balls out (or in their case, ovaries) attitude that hasnt been seen since the likings of Motley Crue, and Guns and Roses. LOCK UP YOUR SONS!!!!!
