Home Sweet Home
Haling from Hacienda Heights, California, Home Sweet Home is a sprawling and diverse band of emo and alternative music with a little hint of pop punk here and there. The songs are easy to relate to and leave you feeling free. The music is meant to take you away from your problems. We have our depressing sides as well. Songs like "In the water" may bring a few tears to your eyes ; ). However songs like "Confession" will give you the bands alter ego.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Joseph Khoury, at age 16 has been concerned about one thing his whole life..music. Music has been his soul, his life, and his being. He pours every emotion he has into his drumming style, and beleive me..it pays off. If u know Joe, you know he is bound for fame.
Matthew Sellers, age 17, originates from Arcadia. As a child he looked up to his older brother, as a guide to music. And get this: HE HAS NEVER TAKEN A LESSON IN HIS LIFE!!!! He plays bass for Home Sweet Home. He also can play the guitar, drums, piano, accordian, recorder(flute kind), and even the harmonica. just amazing. You wouldn't think that if you heard him play. Matt is a well rounded musician and the latest addition to the band. He is an amazing musical technician as well, he does all the bands recordings...
Jake Hawkes digs his roots into the grounds of La Habra/Whittier. An interesting fact is that he has never taken a lesson for singing. He is self taught. As far as guitar goes, 1 month of lessons. Jake beleives he owes much of his success to his piano teacher and his recently acquired music teacher at Bosco, who is in the professional band "the big pill" (www.thebigpill.com). This kid is an amazing musician who puts his music first.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We do play live. Contact us if you would like us to play at parties, weddings, venues, bar-mitzfas, or even on the streets of Pasadenda. We have played at the Don Bosco Tech Coffee House and also at a backyard party.
