Hollow Scorn

Hollow Scorn is a metal band from Eskilstuna in Sweden, which has existed with the setting of today since the summer of 2006. The band started during the year of 2000 as a one-man black metal project by Mikael Moberg, and has developed to a real band with the years. Members are Mikael Moberg (Vocals, guitar), Rikard Humbla (Drums), Nicklas Karlsson (Guitar) and Marcus Norström (Bass).

Hollow Scorn started under the name Horrid Sleep as a one-man Black Metal project in the year of 2000 by Mikael Moberg. In the autumn of 2002, Tuomas Meriläinen was asked to play drums. He had just started playing drums, but was given a chance anyway. It worked out well, so he became the drummer of Horrid Sleep. Sometime during 2003 the need of a bass player grew bigger. Nicklas Frisk, a friend of Toumas Meriläinen and Mikael Moberg was asked to fill the position; he agreed to do it and joined the band in the beginning of 2004. Shortly before Nicklas Frisk came into the band, Mikael Moberg decided to change the style of the music, so the band agreed to find a second guitarist. The search for that second guitarist began and ended with Nicklas Karlsson, who joined the band in the autumn of 2004. Because of that, the music took a gradual turn, and what was once a one-man project ended up as a full band. At that point the decision was made to change the name of the band to Hollow Scorn. During the winter of 2005/2006 members began to lose interest and it ended up with only Mikael Moberg left in the band. Shortly after Tuomas Meriläinen left the band, Rikard Humbla was asked to be the new drummer. A few months later Marcus Nordström joined the band as the new bass player, and Nicklas Karlsson came back on guitar after a short break from the band.
