Hi Low
Hi.Low is a melting pot of different sounds and vibes. Two solo artists blend together to bring powerful pop music with a hip-hop edge. Truck (a.k.a. Keoni Kelso) adds a flavor of pop and his radio-friendly raps add a hint of his hip-hop influences. Mikee lends a soulful voice to the group, lending that taste of r&b, soul and funk.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Truck's solo cut "Sino Ba Siya?" was released on the P-Noize compilation, released in June 2003.
Hi.Low was conceptualized and formed in August 2003 as a trio of male rappers.
In late August, Truck and Jan were on the way to rehearsals and bumped into Mikee. "Wanna come along and jam?" She never left.
In early September, Uela joined the group days after Renito had quit.
Hi.Low's debut performance was at Cavite in September 2003 with a line up of four people.
In November 2003, Truck, Mikee and Jan decided to go on as a trio.
Hi.Low's first performance as a trio was at the campus of DLSU-College of Saint Benilde in February 2004.
The demo's recording began in late February. Jan had quit in early March. Recording is still on-going as well as teh search for a new member.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We do play live when the opportunity arises. We've performed in Manila and in Cavite. We're concentrating on getting our demo recorded now so we're laying low but hopefully, we get to go out and perform live cause that's what we like doing. It's always special when we write songs.
