HighRum the Recluse
My name is HighRum the Recluse. I was born and raised in Redlands, California. I started writing lyrics back in '94 and '95, but barely recorded my first song in '03. Since then, I've worked with a few different people; family, friends, I've even been to Streetlight Studios, but that was extremely short-lived. My main goal is to get my music out there for people to hear, and if I could make a little cash in the long run, why not.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've been writing since junior high school, used to jus' rap over instrumentals that I would get from cd singles.
Whenever I would kick it with the homies and drink, I would freestyle battle back and forth with the homies Big P and Robbie.
I recorded my first song with this piece of shit, PM. We set up a little ghetto makeshift studio in my livingroom, where we did a few tracks.
PM introduced me to another cuzin of mine, KrizzBeatz. We put together a few tracks with Krizz on tha beats.
Later, Krizz introduced me to Mizzery of CSE Records. I made a few songs with them, but it didn't work out for me.
At that same time, I would go up to Northern California and do some tracks with my cuzin Cizz. We kinda put together a group called Tha I.E./Bay Connection.
In 2008, I stopped writing and rapping. I had my own personal reasons.
2009 is gonna be my year with the Hood Thugs. . .
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I still have yet to play for a crowd, sounds like fun.
