Spotlight: Hero’s Code So, it once happened, in the magical forest of music and metal, 4 stray animals, each humming a lonely tune, found each other and formed an unstoppable band to seek and mend all unhappy rock n roll fans, who are eagerly waiting for the next big breakthrough. They called themselves "Hero’s Code", and in the likes of Metallica and Iron Maiden, they would take over the world. Of course, Joey Giles and his crew aren’t exactly animals (on the outside), and right now they’re a few steps back from taking over the world, but Hero’s Code, who come fresh out of Dartmouth, are certainly taking Metro by storm. After a recent name change, a shift in band members, and only 3 months of being together, Hero’s Code has found where they want to be, preforming. Their sets are composed of both originals and covers, but lately, writing originals has been first priority. "We enjoy writing music and every band member contributes to the process. We’re heavily influenced by Metallica and Iron Maiden, and enjoy playing their music, but playing our own songs is awesome" says front man, Joey Giles. When asked about the tribute show they are playing this month at the Pavillion, Hero’s Code quickly pointed out that they are not a tribute band, and don’t want to be though of as one. Hero’s Code plans on recording an EP in the near future, so stay tuned for more information. You can catch them at the Pavillion of April 15 for tribute night, and keep your eyes pealed for upcoming shows around Metro.
