Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
OTHER ROOMS My second soloalbum, released May 2007. Contains 9 originals, 1 cover of Depeche Mode's "Freelove" and a secret. The album was on the list of best popalbums of 2007 in the Danish newspaper "Nordjyske". It can be ordered via www.cdwow.com. The name is Henrik Fevre. I was born 1st of March 1972 and after years of playing both pop, heavy metal, symphonic rock and dance, I decided the time was due to make my personal statement in terms of music. So I set out to record what was going to be "Seasons of a soul", my first officially released album. It was compiled from a number of recordings I did from summer 1999 up to its releasedate in April 2002. All material is original except 4 lyrics by British artist David Sylvian. www.davidsylvian.com. From the beginning the idea of making this music was to go deeper inside pop music. The most important aspect for me was the solidarity between lyric and music instead of radiofriendly grooves and hit-oriented choruses. The obvious choices and the laid down schemes for contemporary pop music were given up in favour of experiments with both composition and sound. Very personal lyrics were added. Though pop is the main language on Seasons of a soul, the musical horizon is wide - from small chamber music-like pieces and an almost classical structured suite in four parts to electronic outskirts of jazz and new age. And even though the melancholy is largely represented on the album, room was left for a single optimistic pop song as well. The album was critically well received, both in Denmark and especially in Italy. 2003-05 Anubis Gate Another chapter in my musical life began when I in 2003 accepted a rare challenge to write some heavy metal songs once again. Getting back to the roots, so to speak. Jesper Møller Jensens new band, Anubis Gate had just formed, but was in need of melodies and lyrics for a couple of songs. I gave it a shot, and they were very satisfied with what I come up with, which ended up on their debut album of 2004, "Purification". Later lead guitarist Kim Olesen and I (bass, backing vocals) joined the band which made it a five piece with Morten Sørensen (drums) and Torben Askholm (vocals). We worked great together and as soon as in 2005 we released the sequel, "A perfect forever", again on Spanish Locomotive Records in Europe/USA and now also on Encore Rec. in South America. Also this album was critically very well received in various heavy metal magazines/webzines. Our third album "Andromeda Unchained" got 3 nominations in "Danish metal awards 2007", but won only for best coverart. For the lastest news and more thorough information on Anubis Gate, please visit www.anubisgate.com. UFO Finally there was another solo CD available. Though only a promo-cd containing three new tracks and one remix, which was released May 2005. UFO was meant to be part of a promo package made for making gigs and, in best case, the all-important record contract. Stylistically this EP follows where the track "Out of my hands" began. Therefore this track was remixed and put out again. More mainstream pop music, but still with the special Fevre touch...
